(Thematic Output) Protecting Our Planet

The Environment Month is a universal call to action for the populace, urging them to be stewards of the environment. The focus is on promotion of environmental awareness in use challenges like climate change, eroding tropical forests, pollution, and loss of biologocal diversity. For the entire duration of the month, communities and schools and organizations engage in activities such as clean up exercises, saving energy and other environment friendly activities in a bid to reduce the adverse effects to nature. The aim is to activate people into doing something about it by calling for a more adventurous way of life, that even there are slight improvements such as practicing water management and reducing use of plastics or growing trees will effect major changes. Ultimately, Environment Month is geared towards the understanding that it is not only the duty of some individuals to be concerned about the environment, but it is every body’s duty to do so, and every single effort is needed to make the world a healthy and green untouched future.

In ninth grade, our teacher assigned us an activity to clean different parts of the school. Through this, we transformed areas that were once dirty into cleaner, more pleasant spaces. Beyond just cleaning, this activity also helped the environment, making it a small step toward a healthier planet.

In this photo, I’m participating in a school recycling competition with classmates, aiming to reduce waste by creatively reusing items like plastic bags, bottles, and a broken umbrella. Our efforts not only helped clean up the school but also raised awareness about the importance of recycling, showing how small actions can contribute to a greener environment.

On September 13, the ISNHS-SSLG organized a General Clean-up Drive dubbed “PAARALAN KO,
LINIS KO” where many clubs and organizations participated. This particular program is one of the many programs aimed at curbing the degradation of the environment, as well as supporting hygiene practices in school. This makes the activity even more useful in encouraging the students to learn and grow in a better environment by keeping the exterior areas clean and tidy. Also, it empowers the students to contribute towards the upkeep of the cleanliness of the school, proving that every little effort counts towards improving the state of society.
